Strategic Thinking

Each organization has a unique vision of the work it needs to achieve.  Staying clear about that vision is not easy, particularly in challenging economic times.  Organizations and their leaders need to be flexible to seize the opportunities before them and focus on building synergy and adapting to change. 

We can work with you using methods that best meet the time and financial constraints you face.  We have worked with numerous organizations to strengthen them and prepare for a future that is constantly changes.  Strategic thinking is not always easy and requires commitment.  The result those is worth the commitment to bring new energy and renewed dedication to your work and your vision.

 

Leadership  Development and Transition

Works with executive directors and organization leaders to define new opportunities and prevent burnout.  Helps staff develop leadership skills to move to the next level.  Works with Board and staff when key staff changes and turnover occur.  Dr. Summers guides transition and makes your organization more effective.  Individual consultation as well as presentations and trainings are available.

Board Develop and leadership development are particularly important as organizations grow and develop.  Dr. Summers works will boards on these issues as well as accountability and transparency issues.

Research and Reports

Keeping informed internally and providing knowledge externally – keys to your success.  Working with you to provide thought-provoking information and needs assessments that keep your organization on the leading edge. Dr. Summers has research a variety of workforce issues from child care to life sciencecareers.

Professional Communications

Work with staff of organizations to improve skills in writing professional emails, letters and memos.  Assist staff in developing better presentation skills.  Taught Professional Communications Course – UNC-Chapel Hill Master of Public Administration Program, Fall 2005.

 

Coaching

Working with individuals to set priorities and boundaries, move performance to the next level and strengthen personal mission and goals.  Guiding development of inner leadership.  Currently coaches individual clients and groups.  Email for information about “Effective Coaching for Staff Development.,”
